Funded Research Positions for Postdoctoral and Doctoral Students in

The Institute of Computer Science at the University of Innsbruck, Austria,
invites applications for Phd students and Postdocs in the Distributed and
Parallel Systems Group (DPS).

Your areas of interest should comprise:
- Application development and runtime environments for multi-core parallel
architectures
- Program analysis and optimizations for parallel systems
- Programming languages and methods for multiprocessor architectures
- Performance analysis and debugging for parallel programs

Prerequisites: applicants must hold a master or equivalent degree in
computer science as well as a working permit for the European Union

Profile of our group: DPS participates among others in the following EU
projects: EU CoreGRID, EU EC-GIN, EU edutain@grid, EU Adaptive Services
Grid, EU KWF Grid, EU EGEE 1 . 3, SFB Aurora and Austrian Grid.

Language skills: English; Note that the working and study language is
English. The entire course and research programme is held in English only.
There is no need to learn German for this position.

combination of the Alpine environment and the urban life in this
historically grown town provides a high quality of living. The university

Australian Federation of University Women Vic-Scholarship Program 2008

The scholarships listed below are offered only to female students who are enrolled at Victorian universities, or at the Victorian campuses of the Australian Catholic University. Applicants are asked to demonstrate that they are or have been experiencing disadvantage in the pursuit of their studies.

William and Elizabeth Fisher Scholarship $4000, two Bursaries $1500 each and International Scholarship $2000 for female students enrolled in 2008 in a postgraduate research degree.

Yvonne Aitken Scholarship $2000 for a female student enrolled in 2008 in a postgraduate Diploma of Education (DipEd).

AFUW-Vic Scholarship $2500 and two Bursaries $1000 each for a female student enrolled in 2008 in a postgraduate coursework degree. Mature age will be a preferential factor.

F.D. Daniels Scholarship $3000 and two Bursaries $1500 each for female students enrolled in 2008 in an honours year of an undergraduate degree.

Madeleine Capicchiano Scholarship $3000 for a female student enrolled in an honours year of an undergraduate degree who is conducting research human rights and/or social justice issues at the local, national or international level.

Indigenous Scholarship $2000 for a female indigenous student resident in Victoria enrolled in 2008 in an undergraduate degree course at a Victorian university.
